FloCyte is bringing TRAINING to YOUR location!!

It is difficult to find travel funds and week days off for training, even if you can find a training program...

We want to bring this training to YOU - in your facility or one near you.

Calendar

The program is being designed to travel across the country so we have plans to hold a course in your region approximately once a quarter.   For information about hosting please contact FloCyte and we'll be more than happy to send you a Host Kit. Course Curricula Options

Comprehensive Course

This course covers everything in our Basic and Multiparameter Flow Courses - in one comprehensive program.   This is designed to be presented at our venues where there are new users of multiparameter instruments!  Registration for this course has excellent options for all levels of previous flow knowledge, from the basics for novices to advanced topics in experimental design for multiparameter instruments.  It is a  GREAT choice for the introduction of a training program at your institution!  And an excellent way to present all aspects of flow to your users.

Basic Course Curriculum

Basic Training - BOOT CAMP - is the theme of this course - the very basic understanding of how flow cytometry works, and how to get the most out of it.  You will get a chance to see sample data acquisition and engage in some interactive exercises that will give you tools to use when you return to your labs!  This is a good option if you have a facility with less sophisticated instrumentation, perhaps an older analog instrument, for those in Sales who only need rudimentary technology information.  It is essentially the curriculum of days 1-2 of the Comprehensive training.

Multiparameter Flow Cytometry and Compensation

Our first course in Multiparameter Flow Cytometry, taught by Dr. Carleton Stewart, Director of the Flow Cytometry Lab of Roswell Park Cancer Center in Buffalo, New York, was a great success.  We are following it with a curriculum build on Dr. Stewart's presentation on the basics of antibody binding kinetics, titering antibodies, extra and intracellular staining, using tandem dyes, blocking, viability and have augmented it with a complete compensation presentation, built on the work of Mario Roederer, Wayne Moore and Dave Parks.    The response to this course has been excellent!   For our Half Day Multiparameter Strategy Course we cover the strategies and the issues involved in designing these Multiparameter Assays.

Advanced Course Curricula

We have several Advanced Courses in flow cytometry to offer now.  DNA and Cell Cycle Analysis, Intracellular flow, Data AnalysisApoptosis, and PhosphoFlow.  Dates are available for them on the website as they are scheduled.  We also offer a course for Biomedical Technicians, if it is your responsibility to maintain such an instrument.  Watch for new additions currently in the planning stages, on clinical flow cytometry, cell signaling, quantitative flow, sorting, and biotechnology techniques in flow.  If you have a topic you'd like taught, contact us - and we'll work together to prepare a program for your needs.

Individualized Consulting and personal training sessions

If your company, institution or lab is in need of individualized consulting or training on flow techniques, instruments, software, or applications, FloCyte is available to come to you, bringing in a consultant to specifically help with your needs.  This service is highly personalized, we include just the type of training you request!  Prices for this training include the basic consulting fee of $1500 per day, plus $450 - $600 per person per course requested, and expenses for the instructor's travel.  Please contact FloCyte with specific requests.

Resources

We have prepared some of the resources we use in our courses for you to link to on-line or download!  A Glossary of flow cytometry terms is here... if you find a word that you are not familiar with, and it is not on this list, please let us know, and we will research it, add it on, and give you the best definition we can find!!   We also have listed here the Resources section of our training manuals.  These lists are not complete, but we are happy to add to them as we find more resources for you, so send us your suggestions!  Vendors, Professional Organizations, Books and Web resources, as well as the bibliography for our Multiparameter course are all available now for you to link to directly.  We also have several Sponsors who have supported our training programs in a variety of ways, hosting lunches, offering resources, literature, reagents, or Instruments!  Our thanks to them for helping in our success!

Instructors Biographies

Our instructors have an excellent reputation in the Flow world for their talent, training, and dedication to advancing the knowledge of flow operators.  We post their biographies here.

Application

Because we want you to get the most from your training, please fill out the application as honestly and completely as possible.  It is perfectly all right if you have never used or even seen a flow cytometer up close!  BUT if you have the desire to learn this scientific ART - and it is an ART! - fill out our application.  The fee is being kept low to allow as many as possible to take advantage of this opportunity, without the necessity of travel expenses.  Applications for the advanced course will be taken later - as we post that curriculum and itinerary.

Your Benefits!!!

You will 'graduate' with a certificate of accomplishment.  When possible, we will also offer continuing education credits - if you require them for your clinical license.  See each individual course for that information.
