Steve joins us in Boston, bringing his expertise
to teach our first basic there in October of 2003. He earned 2
undergraduate degrees from University of Massachusetts at Amherst
simultaneously, in Exercise Physiology and Biochemistry. He jokes
that he has an advantage. When he has trouble with mice that don't work
out in his experiments he simply tells them "drop and give me 10
pushups!" Steve has worked in clinical research at U Mass Medical Center
at Worcester in the Cancer Center where he did hematopoiesis and neuro stemcell
biology using the MoFlo. He moved to Curis INC. in Cambridge after that,
managing the core facility in this developmental biology oriented biotech.
Here he worked on the FACS Vantage SE and FACSCalibur. In his latest
position at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in Cambridge, Steve provides all core facility
functions, including the oversight of many FACScans, FACSCaliburs, 2 MoFLos, 1
CyAn, an LSC, and the confocal facility. His easy style and kind spirit
make him an excellent instructor. We are delighted to have Steve join our
staff as well. Steve can be reached at stephenbenoit@yahoo.com . |
